Iris Lousiana Pendant - PD1373N1

This is a beautiful tribute to the Iris Flower.The name is of Greek origin, and its meaning is 'rainbow'.

In mythology, Iris was a messenger-goddess who rode rainbows between heaven and earth to deliver messages from Olympus.

This is another of my natural wonder series items. The Louisiana Iris are rapidly becoming widely recognized and popular in most of the country, not just in their southerly native place of origin. They are quite simple yet that simplicity makes for their beauty.

This would also make a lovely set of earrings, anklet or bracelet.

This is such a pretty flower that is a wildflower and I am very pleased with this tribute to this native wildflower.
