Tenko Tiara (Portfolio) - HJ1239X1
This is Tenko, a tiara I made for friend Princess Chantal.
I got the photo when Tenko came back in for polishing. It is made of white quartz, Brazilian amethyst, garnet and rainbow fluorite, set into sterling silver. I particularly like the way the texture in the metal carried the image of scales.
Tiaras tend to come in two price ranges; exceedingly expensive and dirt cheap. The cheap ones are made from fake gold, plastic, and cut glass.
Tenko occupies a unique middle ground. She is made in the classic style of precious metals and natural gem stones, but careful choice of materials kept her affordable.
I particularly like this tiara because it is the proof that a piece of jewellery as regal as a tiara can be made affordably.
Metal: sterling silver
