Fleur de Lys Pendant (Portfolio) - PD1392X1
I really like the detail and layers on this piece.
The top alone has three curved sections contributing to the depth and detail of this beautiful piece.Translated from the original French it means flower of lily or lily flower.
You have to love something that may be 'at one and the same time, political, dynastic, artistic, emblematic, and symbolic'.
It's been a while since I posted any of my recent commissioned work, so here is a piece I delivered the other day. This is one where I built a piece based on the customer's design to show off the customer's stones.
It is loosely based on an art nouveau motif she liked a lot. In my opinion this customer has an impeccable sense of aesthetics and I am really looking forward to doing more work for her.
The photo was a bit of a rush job, so a little explanation is in order. The rectangular stone is a particularly large and beautiful bottle green tourmaline. I expect she paid a fair bit for that rock.
Unfortunately, it comes out as black in the photo, but it is really a very deep rich green.
The pearl is the show stopper here.My customer bought some oysters at the wharf in San Francisco, and this beauty was in one of the oysters. Not only is it gorgeous, it's about the size of a VW microbus. That was definitely a lunch that paid for itself.
The body of the piece is lost wax cast sterling with fine silver settings soldered on.
