Primitive Flower Pendant - PD1350N1

This is simple but interesting piece.

The etching on the piece has a three dimensional texture to it.

It is unique and rather clever.

The five petaled flower is a primitive interpretation of the 'rosa rugosa'.

According to Dan Brown's book 'The DaVinci Code' the Rosa rugosa, is one of the oldest species of rose.

it has five petals andpentagonal symmetry, just like the guiding star of Venus, giving the Rose strong iconographic ties to womanhood.

It is very different than many of our usual studio pieces but has an interesting twist, never the less.
