Rhodos Broach

It is a piece of red ammolite in a sgrafitto enamelled setting. The metalwork is done in fine silver. To the best of my knowledge this is the only time amolite has been combined with sgrafitto enamelling ever in the whole world. And I did it.

The stone is strongly directional, so it flashes differently from a variety of different angles. Unfortunately, I couldn't find exactly the right angle to take the picture, so the photograph sucks. But then I am a jeweller and not a photographer.

What with all the blood red veins on a black background, this is a perfect broach for any child of the night.
